Concepts & Prototypes

Gameplay concepts and prototypes that are not in a playable state, created as assignments in various classes at the University of Silicon Valley.

-Escape from Burma

This was the first project created for my Foundations of Interactive Design. It was created by me and game engineering student Win Kyaw. The idea is that Burma or Myanmar is the last known location of the Pink-headed Duck, which may or may not be extinct. This concept art was created by me, and the character on the right, although the character on the right is based on Win's character concept. The gameplay loop would be to find as many animals as possible, then escape.

-The Adventures of Cannonball Bill

This is a group project for Project Management for Professionals course at USV. The concept is a 2.5D Metroidvania game based on a DND campaign by Daniel Matlock, who is the project manager for the group. The main character is a skull with octopus tentacles who is a pirate captain. My main contributions are 2D art assets, character designs, and mechanics design. The project is still in development. Below are some designs I created as well as a brainstorming board.

-Sci-Fly Fishing

This is a concept for a first-person fishing game created for Foundations of Interactive Design. You are a little robot who acts as a fishing lure for an alien, who must live as a fisherman to survive on earth. The main gameplay is playing as the tiny android fishing lure (the red guy on the left). The gameplay loop would involve attacking alien fish and capturing native fish to sell. You can use this money to upgrade gear and unlock new locations.

-Loose Change

This is a board game concept created as a class in Foundations of Interactive Design. It is a dexterity game where you have to hold onto all the coins you collect. If you dropped a coin, it went back to the dragon. Cards would be placed face down on the board, and if you landed on the space, you got the card. The cards were either trap or treasure cards. My main contributions were creating the cards for the game, as well as creating concept art for the sci-fi expansion.

-Minecraft Copy and Paste Tool

This is a concept that could hypothetically be added to Minecraft's Creative Mode. It was created in the online USV Foundations course at University of Silicon Valley. The assignment was a group project with two other people. The idea and the visuals were created by me.
